Adrian Deckbar is a New Orleans photorealist painter and printmaker. Her artworks feature dramatic interior scenes with posed figures illuminated by soft, warm light. This print is one of a series of limited-edition serigraphs Deckbar made in the 1980’s. Art critic John Kemp described Deckbar’s work of this period as “hyperrealist and romantic paintings often resembled still images from a movie set, caught between dramatic moments.” This piece depicts a couple in relaxed positions, staring into each other’s eyes, capturing the emotional charge of their perceived close relationship.
