Web Notes
Few artists are more of the product of their place than Carolyn Heller. Living much of her life in Tampa, Florida, Heller enjoyed a career of exploration, taking much of her distinct artistic style from the Abstract Expressionist movement. Her work spreads across both canvases and objects of everyday life, and depicts vivid colors, sharp movements, and flowers.

Although Heller derived much of her inspiration from her Floridian landscape, she received her most prominent education at a young age at Newcomb College, the all-female precursor to Newcomb-Tulane college. Perhaps here is where Heller developed her love for floral designs with large, sweeping motion drenched in their work. No Hate, while unlike her typical work, is yet another prime example of the artistic variety seen by artists educated through the rich culture of Tulane and New Orleans.
