The museum’s photography collection includes dozens of portraits that address struggle and rebirth. Dugan’s work expands the collection’s reflection on how our identities are shaped by desire, intimacy, and
companionship. This work pictures a couple that appears relaxed yet vulnerable. The direct gaze of Dugan’s
subjects Jamie and Ann confront the viewer as they embrace, surrounded by lush greenery. Dugan writes
about Jamie, a breast cancer survivor, in their 2022 book Look at me like you love me.
