Spotlight on 4 Newcomb Artisans

This collection display highlights the practices of four notable designers from Newcomb Pottery movement. At turn of the 20th century, Harriet Coulter Joor, Marie de Hoa LeBlanc, Henrietta Davidson Bailey and Anna Frances “Fanny” Simpson were contemporaries and employed by the school’s pottery after graduation from Newcomb College, where training in ceramics was fundamental to arts education.
