Rita Marie Roger was born in New Orleans on May 8, 1892. Roger graduated from the New Orleans Normal school before enrolling at Newcomb. She received both Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Education from Newcomb and Tulane, respectively. Her teaching career began in 1912 and continued until her retirement in 1957.
Rita Marie Roger died on December 22, 1988, at the age of 96.
