Francis Luis Mora
(Uruguay, 1874 - 1940, New York, NY)
Francis Luis Mora was born in Uruguay and moved to America as a child, where he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Boston. He painted predominantly as a muralist, receiving major commissions for theaters and federal buildings; he was also a skilled illustrator and portraitist. He was a member of the National Academy of Design, among other art societies, and worked as an art teacher.
