Nancy Wyllie

(Ithica, NY, 1952 – )



Nancy E. Wyllie (b. 1952, Ithaca NY) is a media and installation artist who earned a Master’s in Art Education from RISD in 1977 before moving to New Orleans where she earned an MFA in painting in 1982. From 1987 to 1988, she studied film at New York University. Wyllie has exhibited her photo-based work in New York at White Columns, The Alternative Museum, Artist's Space and P.P.O.W., as well as Brandeis University, Ohio State University, Marymount Manhattan College, Providence College and M.I.T. Her video art has been screened throughout the US and abroad including The Whitney Museum of American Art at Altria, The 7th International Berlin Director's Lounge and the Persona Art Festival in London where she won the Persona Award in 2011. In December 2011, her video short titled, "Nothing," was one of 25 international selections screened at Tribeca Cinemas Video Art & Experimental Film Festival in New York. Currently Wyllie is a retired Professor of Art & Digital Media at The Community College of Rhode Island.
