Diane Buckler
photographer
(1956 – 2008)
Diane Buckler was an American conceptual artist working mostly in sculpture and photography. Her work is conceptual and abstract, and often presents fragmented configurations that reference classical imagery. Bucklers work is considered “post-feminist,” in that it forces the viewer to imagine new concepts of meaning, challenging established “truths”.
Born in 1956, Buckler attended the California Institute of the Arts and studied under John Baldassari. She lived briefly in Bali, Indonesia. Buckler’s work is in collections that include: the Long Beach Museum of Art, MOCA and the Met.
Diane Buckler died January 2008.
